Barkwells is located in the heart of the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, a vacation mecca of outdoor activities and breathtaking natural beauty. Tell your folks that as long as you are on a leash, you are welcome to hike and see waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest or Dupont State Forest, NC Arboretum or Blue Ridge Parkway, all within a half hour of Barkwells.
Let them know that with a two-day ticket purchased at Barkwells, there’s a day for you to stroll the gardens and hike the trails with them at the spectacular Biltmore Estate. Then they can enjoy the magnificent house and winery tours on their own!
After you are all tuckered out from a romp and a swim at Barkwells, you’ll want to hang out on your covered porch and drink in the mountain air while your people take in a play at the state theatre of North Carolina in Flat Rock (or any of the many theatre venues nearby), indulge themselves at one of the many craft breweries in Beer City, USA, (four-times running) and eat themselves silly at dozens of fabulous independent restaurants in the area.
The Asheville area is the best place for a vacation because – if you stay at Barkwells, you can bring your people!! Whether they like to brave the whitewater or take a lazy tube down the river, hike the trails, bike the Parkway, stroll through the shops or ski the slopes, it’s all here.
