Spring Update from Barkwells

Spring Update from Barkwells

Dear Loyal Guests and Friends,
We are experiencing the most beautiful spring at our Barkwells properties in Asheville and Pisgah Forest.

It is distressing that you all are missing this special time here and that we are closed until stay in place orders are rescinded. We hope you are all safe and well in your homes and we look forward to when we can welcome you back.

In the meantime, our staff is sheltering at home until we can open again and we are doing our best to mow, mulch, prune, fertilize and pull WEEDS, which makes the goats happy! We have drained the hot tubs, turned off the fireplaces and pretty much dialed down the cabins as much as possible.

Additionally, if you check our YouTube page, you will see the moss yard project going on in Peppermint Patty’s back yard. We are working on having a lush green carpet there when you return.

Plus, Donkeys!  With a little more time for donkeys, we are walking them and reading with them at Woody Farm. Again on Facebook check out the Easter parade featuring cute donkeys in bonnets, Ellen’s sister, Jo-Anne, fashioned out of her quilting stash!

While part of Barkwells’ beauty and appeal is flowers, trees, water, birds and cabins, it only truly blooms and flourishes with the love of dogs and your appreciation for the Barkwells community. We so appreciate our two, sometimes three, and four-legged guests and know that you are looking forward to your return to this tranquil retreat as much as we are.

With love and gratitude,
Michael and Ellen
